Six Schools in West Jakarta to Be Fully Renovated

Jakarta Education Agency is about to fully renovate six schools in West Jakarta this year. West Jakarta Staff of Community Welfare, Leily Utari, said West Jakarta Administration together with Jakarta Education Agency remain commit to provide appropriate, safe and comfortable educational facilities and infrastructure for learning and teaching activities.

Schools to be renovated, she explained, are SDN Jati Pulo 07/08, SDN Tegal Alur 02/04, SDN Kota Bambu 01/02, SMPN 130 Jakarta, SMAN 33 Jakarta, and TK Negeri Meruya Selatan.

Moreover, her side also to construct two new schools for junior high school level in Tegal Alur and Jati Pulo Urban Villages.

"This total renovation is not just a physical reconstruction, but a commitment to providing a school that is safe, comfortable, child-friendly, and able to support better teaching and learning processes. Our children deserve a decent, modern, and inspiring educational space," she explained.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Education Head Unit of Education Facilities Management, Budiyono, stated Jakarta has 2014 state school buildings.

"School renovation in West Jakarta has been running since 2021. We are currently doing this again because the condition of many school buildings in West Jakarta is more vulnerable than in other areas of Jakarta," he stated.

He admitted that the renovation of six schools and construction of two new school buildings will run from September 2025 up to March 2026.

"Hopefully this process will run smoothly, and to complete on time," he admitted.
